Erinyà canyon is a unique geological place, as it has an Upper Cretaceous stratigraphic series: the massive limestones of Upper Cretaceous are located at the bottom of these dominant rocks.

By the geometry of their stratification and the fossil content, these rocks are interpreted as sediments deposited on a coral environment: it would correspond to a reef, probably to a coast. This loamy and clayey limestone series of Upper Cretaceous is heavily tilted towards the south.
